Shirley Caesar Honored at Grammy Legends Salute

Multiple Grammy Award Winner Pastor Shirley Caesar will be honored as the Recording Academy pays homage to its 2017 Special Merit Award Recipients .  The 2 hour salute will also pay tribute to Lifetime Achievement recipients Ahmad Jamal, Charley Pride, Jimmie Rodgers, Nina Simone, Sly Stone, and the Velvet Underground.

The Great Performances presents GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends 2017 was taped before a live audience at the Beacon Theater in New York  in July and makes its television debut on October 13th via PBS stations (check local listings for station info in your area).

In addition to performance from Caesar, there are appearances from Andra Day, 12-time GRAMMY winner Kirk Franklin and GRAMMY winner Le’Andria Johnson
