Mable John Helps The Needy During the Holidays

Fame found Mable John as she toured with Billie Holliday and Ella Fitzgerald in the 50s and recorded for Motown and Stax in the 60s. In 1966, she recorded the million seller Your Good Thing Is About To End.  In the 70s,  she began a decade long association with Ray Charles as leader of the Raelettes.    John walked away from the limelight and came to know the Lord, devoting her life to the ministry in 1978.  She focused her energies toward outreach and assisting the less fortunate.  Through her efforts she has fed 150 people a day and her annual Christmas party provides basic needs to the homeless.

At age 82, John shows no sign of slowing down.  The need is even greater now than before.  To that end, John will host her Annual Christmas Party for the Homeless on December 14th at the Marina Christian Center Building in Westchester, CA.
