Play On, Richard Gibbs Joins Hammond Organ Celebrated Artists
For well over two decades, native Chicagoan Richard Gibbs has been a fixture on the music scene, lifting the spirits of music lovers around the world with his soulful playing. The Hammond Organ Company has taken note of his superior musicianship and added him to their celebrated list of artists joining the ranks of Moses Tyson, Damien Sneed, Elbernita Twinkie Clark, Billy Preston, and others.
Of course, Richard Gibbs is no stranger to Gospel music as Gospel music runs in his veins, His father, Richard Gibbs Sr, was part of the Soul Stirrers and his mother, the iconic Inez Andrews immortalized Mary, Don’t You Weep as a lead singer with the Caravans. Richard has accompanied churches, groups, soloists, and choirs throughout his career as music director, producer, arranger, composer and more including the Grammy award winning Thompson Community Singers and has also toured as a traveling musician for the Queen of Soul, the late Aretha Franklin and Jennifer Hudson.
Richard pays tribute to his musical journey on his recently released instrumental disc Just For Me on the Sirens Records label.
