Jubilee Showcase Heads To Vimeo On Demand

Jubilee Showcase, the ground breaking Chicago based Gospel music television program finds a new home as several programs are now available on Vimeo.  The show, hosted by Sid Ordower aired on WLS TV in Chicago from 1963 to 1984 reached some quarter of a million people every Sunday morning bringing the Gospel music headliners from the Golden Era of Gospel into their homes.  The shows featured the music of the show’s anchors The Norfleet Brothers, the Barrett Sisters, The Staple Singers, The Caravans, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Rev. Jessy Dixon, Andrae Crouch and the Disciples, the Edwin Hawkins Singers, The Thompson Community Singers, Reverend Clay Evans and the Fellowship Baptist Church Choir and countless others.

Jubilee Showcase marked 50 years with a documentary hosted by Clifton Davis and airing on PBS in 2013.  100 of the shows are part of the archives located at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago, Illinois.
