Soar Radio Awards Tap Michelle Williams & Donald Lawrence To Host

Taps Grammy® Award Winners Donald Lawrence and Michelle Williams As Hosts

The Stellar Gospel Music Award winning online radio station, SOAR Radio, and the founder of Sun Wise Media, Ri- Karlo Handy, have announced the 2nd Annual Soar Radio Gospel Music Awards. The program will take place Monday, April 9, 2018 @ 7:00 PM at The Coronado Performing Arts Center, 314 N. Main Street, Rockford, IL 61101. The show, which will be taped for television broadcast, will feature performances honoring pioneers from all genres of Gospel music. The hosts for evening will be multi-award winning producer, Donald Lawrence, and celebrity personality, Michelle Williams, of Destiny’s Child fame.

SOAR will hand out its Community Awards at a pre-show ceremony that starts at 6 PM with performances from artists such as Michelle Prather, Clifton Ross, Half Mile Home, and others. The main presentation will follow. The dynamic Beverly Crawford will receive the Legend Award. Sister act, Virtue, will earn the Milestone Award. Singer/Producer, J. Moss, is taking the Pioneer Award. The multi-talented Vashawn Mitchell will be honored with the Trailblazer Award and Bishop Hezekiah Walker will take home the Gospel Icon Award.

This special evening will boast performances and appearances by a who’s who in modern gospel music with Le’Andria Johnson, Jonathan McReynolds, Jekalyn Carr, Alexis Spight, JJ Hairston, Micah Stampley, Zacardi Cortez, Todd Dulaney, Myron Butler, Ted Winn, Latice Crawford, Tim Bowman and Gene Moore, among others. SOAR Radio will also host an Empowerment Expo the day before on Sunday April 8th at The Tebala Shrine, 7910 Newburg Road, Rockford, IL 61108. It runs from 1:00 – 8:00 pm and features an Indie Artist Showcase judged by Gina Miller, General Manager of eOne’s Urban Inspiration department; Phil Thornton, General Manager of RCA Inspiration; Kelvin Leach, CEO of Lox Entertainment; and Michelle Williams.
