Melonie Daniels Walker Gives New Life To Daryl Coley Classic
Who hasn’t been in awe of the artistry of Melonie Daniels Walker? The in demand singer/songwriter, actress, vocal coach, vocal director, worship leader and so much more has delighted audiences with her unforgettable performances including He Lives and Forever from the GMWA Women of Worship and Reflections from Olanda Draper and the Associates. The Gospel world was buzzing when Walker broke the news that she had begun work on her solo CD. News that she was releasing a single only made us anxious, and then on July 29th, it became a reality. I Need Your Spirit hit digital retail outlets and was met with rounds of praise from Walker’s large fan base.
Walker honors the memory of the late Reverend Daryl Coley as well as the legacy of the Edwin and Walter Hawkins Music and Arts Love Fellowship Conference (The song was originally featured on the Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir Give Us Peace LP). “I Need Your Spirit was so ideal in that it expresses a reinforced truth that without God, we are nothing. The Bible expresses it clearly when it says in Him we live, move and have our being. The song also gives a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the legacy of Reverend Daryl Coley, who was by far one of the greatest singers and God sent musical gifts to mankind as well as to honor the wonderful music that we have been recipients of over the past 35 years through the Edwin and Walter Hawkins music conference. I am just blessed to have been an active part of this great assembly of talented singers and musicians.”
Spirit heads to radio as Walker makes promotional stops at select cities across the country.
