BRIAN COURTNEY WILSON WINS DOVE AWARD

Multiple award-winning singer-songwriter, Brian Courtney Wilson won the GMA Dove Award for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for his 2022 album “Transitions.” The award ceremony was held in Nashville on Tuesday and will broadcast exclusively on TBN today, October 20 at 8pm EST and 10pm PST. This was his second Dove Award win, and he was also on hand to present the award for Gospel Worship Album of the Year.

“Transitions,” was recorded live in Nashville and features a musical conversation, rooted in the black music tradition, between himself, the musicians, and singers. Additionally, Wilson released the full concert video on YouTube. The album generated the Mediabase / Billboard Gospel number one song “Always Peace.”

Wilson was fresh from a rousing appearance at White House Correspondent April Ryan, and James Ewing’s wedding in Baltimore, MD. Ryan personally requested Wilson to sing during her special day. During the ceremony, he sang “The Lord’s Prayer” accompanied by violinist Dr. Chelsea Green and closed with “Always Peace.” He later sang an impromptu of his hit song “A Great Work,” at the reception. The gorgeous wedding was held at the Carriage House at Gramercy Mansion in Baltimore and was a romantic, intimate affair. Special guests included Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Valerie Jarrett, Ronnie DeVoe, Jawn Murray, and many others. Other performers included Wayne Bruce, The Spur of the Moment Band, Ronald McFadden, Jade Madden, and Dr. Chelsey Green.
