A Banner Year For Tauren Wells

Provident/Sony celebrates a GRAMMY nomination for Tauren Wells, whose chart-topping Billboard single, “Known,” was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. The 61st Annual GRAMMY® Awards will air live on the CBS on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019.

Tauren Wells’ current single, “Known,” finishes 2018 at #1 on the Billboard Christian Airplay Chart. “Known,” has reached #1 status on the Billboard HOT AC/CHR charts, Billboard AC Monitored chart and the overall Billboard Audience Chart. The powerful song has deeply connected with audiences around the world.

In October, Wells picked up four Dove awards for Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year – thus, making him the most awarded artist at the 49th Dove Awards. Social Misfits single, “War Cry,” featuring Tauren Wells also picked up a Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year. Additionally, Wells performed twice on the 49th Dove Awards held in Nashville, TN earlier this year.

Wells’ debut solo single, “Hills and Valleys” lifted from the album of the same name, was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America®) this year and has received over 100 million digital streams and its accompanying acoustic style music video has been viewed over 24 million times. Wells’ Grammy nominated and critically acclaimed solo debut album, “Hills and Valleys,” debuted top five on the Billboard Top Christian Charts after its 2017 release. “Hills and Valleys” earned two Grammy nominations for Best Contemporary Christian Album and Best Contemporary Christian Song.

Concluding 2018, the trailblazing artist recently appeared on Hallmark’s “Home & Family,” where he gave an emotional performance of “Known” which brought the hosts to tears. Wells also enjoyed an impressive year of press with appearances on TV One’s “Sister Circle Live,” KTLA News, Reach Media’s “GET UP! Mornings with Erica Campbell,” “Willie Moore Jr. Show,” and more.

The Houston residents, Tauren and his wife Lorna, are the proud parents to three boys. Wells is currently actively touring and looking forward to what God has in store for 2019.
