Hang On Takes Top Spot On Gospel Airplay Chart

Hang On, the radio single from the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church Choir disc GEI Live lands at number one on the Gospel Airplay Chart.  The album made its debut at number 5 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart and features the choir along with unforgettable performances from Bishop J. Drew Sheard, Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole and Twinkie Clark.

Songwriter Derrick Starks was elated with the news.  “Wow! The glory goes to God! This is the Lord’s doing.  Bishop Sheard is always preaching messages and equipping people to face their challenges unafraid because God is always with us.  We wanted music that would encourage the listeners, so the album just took on the overall message to Hang On.    I run into people all the time who tell me how they are encouraged by the message of the song and Kierra Sheard, she sings with such conviction and passion.”
