Earnest Pugh Leads Juneteenth Celebration
Gospel singer, Worship Pastor and International Recording Artist Earnest Pugh fulfills his civic responsibilities serving as Grand Marshall for the Black Ride celebrating the freedom of African American slaves commonly referred to as Juneteenth on Saturday, June 20th. The event will consist of a peaceful ride from Brookshire to Galveston, Texas for a duration of 155 miles in honor of the 155th year the slaves were freed.
“2020 has been a year to remember” states Pugh, who recently released his critically acclaimed 12th CD, The Outpour Experience. “It is true that to know where we are going, we have to know from whence we have come. We stand on the shoulders of our ancestors and our forefathers who through tenacity and perseverance survived. It is my honor and privilege to be asked to participate in this event, and I pray that we will never forget. We have a job to do, to teach our history to our children and then have them teach it to their children, and always remember that God saw us through our weary years and silent tears and God will sustain us and bring us through the very trying moments in our lives today.
Pug’s radio single, God Wants To Heal You continues its climb up the radio charts as it inspires and encourages people across the nation facing hard times.
