Motown Gospel Celebrates Stellar Award Nominations
The 34th Annual Stellar Award nominations were announced today. Top Gospel label Motown Gospel and Capitol Records talent received 7 nominations in various categories.
The label celebrates Brian Courtney Wilson’s first Stellar Award solo nominations for his inspired 2018 album A GREAT WORK. Wilson earned nods for Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video Of the Year for his number one single “A Great Work.”
Multiple award winner, and perennial favorite Tye Tribbett also earned two additional Stellar Award nominations in both Male Vocalist of the Year and Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year. While Tasha Cobbs Leonard, the label’s most decorated artist received a nod for her beautiful single “You Know My Name (Live) from her current release HEART. PASSION. PURSUIT.: Live At Passion City.
“We are thankful for the recognition our artists have received this year,” said Monica Coates Co-Executive Director of Motown Gospel. “It is especially gratifying to know these nominations included votes from the fans who were touched by our artists and their ministries throughout the year.”
Motown Gospel also celebrates the nominations of Capitol Records artist Tori Kelly, whose album passion project HIDING PLACE received three nominations. The exceptional singer was recognized in both the Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year and Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year categories. The lead single, “Never Alone,” featuring Kirk Franklin was nominated for Urban/Inspirational Song of the Year.
The 34th Annual Stellar Awards will be taped March 29 in Las Vegas, NV and will be televised nationally later this year.
