Throwback to Perfect Peace

perfectpeacecdThrowbacks are always great fun. How about going back to 1995 for this one, from Deitrick Haddon?  Before his solo days, and even before the advent of his choir Voices of Unity (which debuted on Tyscot Records, also in 1995 with Come Into This House), there was Perfect Peace, the four-member male group that put out their self-titled album on Al Bell‘s Bellmark Records in 1995.

The group consisted of  Deitrick Haddon, David Taylor, Eddie Williams and Kevin Williams, and was very much urban contemporary. Other credits on the album were Damita Bass (Deitrick’s future wife) on vocals, and Gerald Haddon, Ali Harris and Arthur Pugh in the band. Haddon wrote most of the material, with catchy numbers such as “Made Up Mind” and “in The Mood”.

The group didn’t last long, and the album didn’t really make much of a splash, but it did serve as the launching pad of sorts for Haddon.
