Gospelflava.com : You’ve been able to fuse Gospel, CCM, Rock, and Alternative sounds and still be very popular in the Gospel genre, What are your thoughts about that?

Aaron Lindsey: I feel really honored to be recognized by the Gospel community. It’s cool to win a grammy, but it’s different when you’re recognized by the people that you’re around all of the time. Gospel music is my foundation. I think that the idea that people enjoy the work that I do is a testament of the advancement of the genre. The thing about Gospel music is that it’s message is undeniable. Regardless of the sound or style of the music. I feel blessed that my work being recognized and that I’m apart of that progression.

Gospelflava.com: What is your perspective about traditional Gospel music and it’s place in the Gospel music world?

Aaron Lindsey: True progession is only effective when you don’t dishonor the foundation already laid for you. I love and respect traditional gospel music. I was raised up on it and I think it’s important to not forsake the evangelistic goal of Gospel music. Traditional Gospel definitely provides that and it always be the foundation for me…
