The Return of Miami Mass Choir
After a fifteen year hiatus, Pastor Marc Cooper and the Miami Mass Choir are set to join the Gospel music ranks with the December 9th release of Miami Mass Choir Live at the Adrienne Arsht Center.
Miami Mass Choir burst on the scene in 1997 with Its Praying Time on Savoy Records. That album delivered the smash hit, What God Has For Me (It Is For Me) that took the record to number 25 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and netted the choir its very first Stellar Award for Choir of the Year. Two albums would follow as well as a collaboration with Evangelist Dorothy Norwood on her Old Rickety Bridge CD.
Excited about the new release, Pastor Cooper shared these words, “This new album is important to Miami Mass as a group because it is an opportunity to continue the great legacy of promoting local songwriters, musicians and singers who desire to use their gifts musically.” “It’s also an honor to get the opportunity, through the Adrienne Arsht Center, to bring Gospel music to all different nationalities in South Florida and beyond and promote the great tradition of gospel music while inviting a whole new demographic and generation of listeners to enjoy the live recording experience.”
