Phillip Bryant -New Artist on the Rise "Poised to Make His Mark"

Today we turn the spotlight to writer, producer, musician, and now gospel artist Phillip Bryant. Phillip grew up singing and playing instruments in the church, as the son of a preacher, he clearly understands gospel music. Phillip has been singing as long as he can remember. At age 19 he signed with a production company where he wrote and produced songs for various artists. He has worked with artists such as: Dave Hollister, John P.Kee, Kelly Price, Fantasia, Mary J.Blige, Coko Clemons, Out of Eden, Anthony Hamilton, Trinitee 5:7, CeCe Winans. He has served as a road musician and musical director and in the last few years decided to venture into becoming a recording artist. Bryant is also married to recording artist Lil Mo’ and they have a beautiful son from their union. His first album entitled “Gracefully” was released in 2005, and was a compilation of songs he’d written for other artists that he wanted to release for the gospel music audience to enjoy.

Bryant recently signed a deal with Tyscot Records and is anticipating a Spring 2011 sophomore release. Although this is his second project he views it as somewhat of a launching opportunity. Listeners should expect an eclectic sound, Phillip states “I want to take the limits off of what we define as gospel music”. He anticipates listeners being delighted with a project with a myriad of musical styles, however the core message of the gospel still being represented. Phillip states “I have been privileged to work with a lot of people in the music industry, however on this project I am excited about working with friends and family to help me commemorate my first project”.

Look out for Bryant in the coming year! He has worked with some wonderful people and is charged to bring a fresh new sound to the gospel community. He’s excited, motivated, and ready to leave his mark on the industry.
