New Assignment For Kelontae Gavin
Chart-topping new artist, and current four-time Stellar Award nominee, Kelontae Gavin is off to an amazing year. The prophetic worshipper was recently appointed the new Worship Pastor of 12,000-member House of Hope Atlanta megachurch last week by Senior Pastor E. Dewey Smith. The Ridgeville, South Carolina native smash hit, “No Ordinary Worship, “is spending its 51st week on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart peaking at #5 this week. Accumulating over 10 million streams to-date, “No Ordinary Worship” also reached #5 on the Gospel Digital Song Sales chart and #7 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart.
In April 2018, Kelontae released his 11-track debut live album, The Higher Experience (MBE/Tyscot Records), which was produced by hitmakers Marquis Boone and Tedy P. The project debuted at #2 on Billboard Top Gospel Albums and landed at #1 on the Gospel Albums chart months later. Gavin and the project has also made appearances on three popular Billboard mainstream charts: #4 on the Next Big Sound chart, #11 on Top Independent Albums, and #94 on Top Albums chart.
Kelontae has been added as a special guest on multiple GRAMMY-nominated Jonathan McReynolds 2019 Make More Room Tour line-up. He will be joining the tour on its Charleston, SC stop on March 27, the Jackson, MS stop on April 5, and the Birmingham, AL stop on April 6. Additionally, On May 26, Kelontae will join Fred Hammond, The Clark Sisters, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, VaShawn Mitchell, and Travis Greene on Kirk Franklin’s second Annual Exodus Music & Arts Festival. In Partnership with Live Nation Urban, the gospel music festival will take place on May 26 at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.
Last month, Kelontae received 4 Stellar Gospel Music Award nomination (5th overall). He’s up for Male Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year, the Contemporary CD of the Year, and Praise and Worship CD of the Year. The 34th annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards ceremony will take place March 29 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
