Damien Sneed Tells Our Story

Celebrated multi genre artist and instrumentalist Damien Sneed prepares for the release of new music a the top of the summer season.  OUR SONG, OUR STORY is a musical tribute to the barrier-breaking, iconic voices of African American classical music legends like Marian Anderson, Paul Robeson, Jessye Norman, and more.  The recording includes operatic arias, art songs, and spirituals by both historic and contemporary African American composers (Harry T. Burleigh, Sneed, Wynton Marsalis, Terrance Blanchard and Andrae Crouch) as well as well-known composers such as Copland, Gershwin and Puccini.

Sneed is joined by Jacqueline Echols-McCarley, soprano Justin Austin, baritone AND Griot String Quartet

OUR SONG, OUR STORY brings together operatic arias, art songs, and spirituals by historic and contemporary Black composers—Burleigh, Sneed, Marsalis, Blanchard, Andrae Crouch—alongside works by Copland, Gershwin, Puccini, and more. Each piece is a testimony to legacy, power, and the brilliance of Black artistry in classical music.

OUR SONG, OUR STORY, is officially being released on June 6, 2025 under Platoon— the prestigious London-based artist services and global music distribution company owned by Apple Music.
