Chicago Mass Debuts New Single
New Haven Records recently announced the release of the Chicago Mass Choir’s latest single and artist video, “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand,” from their celebrated project, We Give You Praise. The top-charting album, which helped the Chicago Mass Choir earn a 2017 Stellar Award for Traditional Choir of the Year, has already generated the hits “Thank You, Thank You Jesus” and “I Give You Praise.”
“Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand” was penned in 1905 by Jennie Wilson, a wheelchair-bound lyricist who wrote more than 2000 poems and hymn texts during the late 19th and early 20th century. Chicago Mass Choir’s decidedly exuberant take on this grand old hymn was produced by award-winning producers Percy Gray, Jr. and Jeral Gray, Sr. and features soloist Felica Welch. New Haven Records president Ken Harding reflects, “Once again, Chicago Mass Choir delivers a timeless truth for such a time as this: in spite of life’s chaos and challenges, we can find profound hope and confidence in Christ.”
New Haven has released an official artist video clip of “Hold To God’s Unchanging Hand.” This video joins hundreds of other Chicago Mass Choir YouTube performances that have collectively generated tens of millions of views with such unforgettable hits as “Holy Ghost Power,” “I Pray We’ll Be Ready,” “Mighty Good God,” and “God is My Everything.”
We Give You Praise is the 16th recording for this internationally acclaimed group and the sixth on the New Haven label since 2001. Dr. Feranda Williamson, the group’s president and CEO, concludes: “God’s faithfulness has been poured out on Chicago Mass Choir for the past 25 years. His blessings and favor culminate in this album, which we pray will bless and encourage people around the world!”
