Dee-1 Takes Aim With Slingshot David

Celebrated Hip hop artist Dee-1 continues to make real music addressing current world issues with the release of his new disc, Slingshot David, hitting digital and online retailers on November 10th.  The Louisiana born emcee and former middle school teacher gained notoriety with the release of hit song Sallie Mae Back, a euphoric celebration of the retirement of his student loan debt.  The song went viral garnering over a million views as well as a partnership and financial literacy tour with leading lender Sallie Mae and appearances on CNN and BET, most recently sharing hosting duties on the Green Carpet at the BET Hip Hop Awards. 

Slingshot David will offer up 13 new tracks, including I Don’t Want To Let You Down, Hood Villians and Love Always Wins (featuring Sevyn Streeter).  Dee-1 stated, “I’m excited to not only introduce new music, but to introduce a new perspective on life, love and faith.  I’m much more than a New Orleans rapper who paid off student loans, I’m a teacher dedicated to helping others find their slingshot of gifts and passion to knock down every giant that’s distracting them from their purpose.”
