Pastor Barbara Best Passes

Pastor Barbara Best of the BL and S Singers has passed away.  With her gift acknowledged early on, she appeared before large audiences at the early age of 10 .  Barbara Best sang with several groups around the Washington, DC area before organizing  Barbara Best and the Deliverance Singers in 1966.  It was from this group that BL and S was birthed (representative of the first initials of Barbara Best, Lois Tillery and Sylvia Wayman).

BL and S recorded 6 albums for the Savoy and Sound of Gospel labels gaining a large fan base and delivering top hits including “I Found a New Doctor,” “The Anointing,” “Romans 8:18,” “Always” and “Just in Time,” and completed 13 successful European Tours with stops in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Turkey and the Canary Islands.
