33rd Annual Dove Award Winners
The winners for the 33rd Annual Dove Awards were announced by
the Gospel Music Association (GMA) on April 25, 2002 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
Hosted by Yolanda Adams and the NFL's Kurt Warner, the evening featured on stage performances by Kirk Franklin with an uptempo praise medley, Nicole Mullen with "Call on Jesus" and tobymac with his hip-hop flava'd "J-Train".
Dove Awards nominations go to recordings released during the Eligibility Year November 1, 2000 through October 31, 2001 and voted on by the 5,000 member Gospel Music Association.

In addition, tobymac won out over Kirk Franklin for Producer of the Year and CeCe Winans yielded to Nicole C. Mullen who took home Female Vocalist of the Year. Mullen also was honored with the Inspirational Song of the Year with "Call on Jesus".
