Day By Day Day By Day is arguably Adams' best album to date, which is a major statement. The twelve-track album marks her first release with Atlantic Records and she shows absolutely no sign of vocal rust. For her tenth solo project, Adams skillfully blends the familiar with a touch of something new for an exciting foray into the life of the believer (read interview). In the realm of the familiar, Adams reunites with super producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who lend their production expertise to several cuts including "Alwaysness" and the radio friendly "Be Blessed". Shep Crawford also returns in a production capacity and shares his gift on the encouraging "It's Gon' Be Nice". Leave it to Adams to make her new thing something that's blazin', for she partners with her Hopeville buddies, Kirk Franklin and Donnie McClurkin. Franklin pens and produces the worship-filled "Show Me", with Franklin's signature vocalists, Candy West, Anthony Evans, and Faith Anderson, adding that special 'Kirk feel' to this superb composition. Donnie McClurkin, along with Mary Mary, join Adams on the dance-inspiring "Lift Him Up". These four star talents, united by the production efforts of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, unite perfectly and combine for another classic hit. No Yolanda Adams project is complete without its share of ballads. She doesn't disappoint, delivering jewels such as "Better Than Gold" and the compelling "This Too Shall Pass". Add the infectiously funky "Victory" (which you'll hear ever more of as it drives the nationally-released movie, The Gospel) and the laidback title cut, "Day By Day", both penned and produced by Gregory Curtis, and you have another gem of an album that you'll be sure to play, well, day by day.
