Richard Smallwood is without a doubt an authentic Gospel music legend.\u00a0 Hugely influenced by the works of the Hawkins family, Smallwood went on to make a name for himself fusing together the worlds of Classical and Gospel music.\u00a0 Penning timeless classics like \u201cTotal Praise;\u201d \u201cCenter of My Joy;\u201d and \u201cI Love the Lord\u201d and having them recorded and performed by Whitney Houston, Destiny\u2019s Child, Kelly Price and Aretha Franklin have helped to cement his place in the Gospel music stratosphere.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The DC native and Howard University graduate released his 15th project titled Anthology in June of 2015.\u00a0 The two disc album made its debut at #1 on the Billboard Gospel charts and featured the music of his choir,Vision along with guest appearances from original Richard Smallwood Singers members Angela Winbush and Dottie Jones.\u00a0 Anthology was nominated for 5 Stellar Awards including<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
