JJ Hairston sets the record straight about his continued recordings with Youthful Praise.\u00a0\u00a0 “People always ask me if I\u2019m going to go out on my own and do\u00a0my own thing. I think Youthful Praise is a part of what I do so I\u2019d never make\u00a0a J.J. Hairston record. It will always be J.J.\u00a0Hairston & Youthful Praise.\u201d Looking back, Hairston admits to never having intentions to lead the aggregation. \u201cI joined just to sing tenor.\u00a0 Youthful Praise taught me to be a leader. I didn\u2019t form the\u00a0group. It was already there when I got there but\u00a0they made me a leader and\u00a0that\u2019s why I appreciate the group as a whole. \"I<\/a><\/p>\n

Hairston and YP are excited about the October 28th release of their 7th live CD, I See Victory on Light Records. The 17 track disc features the choir and assistance from Donnie McClurkin, Karen Clark Sheard, Vashawn Mitchell,\u00a0Jason Nelson and Deon Kipping.\u00a0 Radio has responded to \u201cIt\u00a0Pushed Me\u201d as it\u00a0 rose to #13 on\u00a0Billboard\u2019s\u00a0Gospel Airplay chart and \u201cBless Me\u201d (featuring a rousing lead by Donnie McClurkin) is #27 on the Gospel Airplay chart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
