The year of 2018 was another banner year for Tyscot Records nurturing established artists and propelling rising stars to higher platforms. Anthony Brown & group therAPy enjoyed another big year as the dynamic Washington, D.C. area group maintained its spot as the sixth most popular act of the year on Billboard Magazine\u2019s Top Gospel Artists chart for the second year in a row. Nineteen-year-old newcomer, Kelontae Gavin, from South Carolina, makes his debut on the same chart, coming in at No. 16 for the year off of the strength of his breakthrough radio single, \u201cNo Ordinary Worship,\u201d which has racked up over 10 million streams this year.<\/p>\n

\"\"Veteran artist, Vashawn Mitchell\u2019s \u201cCross Music\u201d EP features the feverish track, \u201cHe Got Up,\u201d which finished at No. 40 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart for the year. Southern sweetie, Ruth La\u2019Ontra, received an early Christmas gift with her uplifting church anthem, \u201cKingdom,\u201d surfacing on two year-end charts. However, she and her husband, Kashif, are expecting an even greater gift very soon. Their second child is scheduled to arrive on Christmas eve.<\/p>\n
