The songs in this collection are intentional in their unique purpose to empower, uplift and motivate. The new spiritual arrangements were inspired by the\u00a0many events of my life as well as recent events in\u00a0the black community at large. I have decided to set these\u00a0spirituals as a\u00a0way to reclaim a\u00a0modern narrative for what\u00a0these songs mean in today\u2019s current racial climate in America or the era of Black Lives Matter. As black men\u00a0are still hunted on street corners, still we must <i>Wade in the Water.\u00a0<\/i>As the mothers of slain young black boys have\u00a0to ask a<i> Precious Lord <\/i>to hold their hand through the worst\u00a0moments of their lives. As young people\u00a0<i>Open their Mouths to the Lord\u00a0<\/i>to speak righteous truth to power that taking any life is wrong &amp; justice will be demanded right now.
