{"id":11592,"date":"2017-11-29T10:45:41","date_gmt":"2017-11-29T15:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gospelflava.com\/v2\/?p=11592"},"modified":"2017-11-29T10:45:41","modified_gmt":"2017-11-29T15:45:41","slug":"back-in-time-laura-lee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gospelflava.com\/v2\/back-in-time-laura-lee\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in Time:  Laura Lee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <strong><em>Occasionally, we dig into details of some of the LPs (that&#8217;s right &#8211;LPs) we are spinning on our turntables in the GospelFlava.com offices&#8230; <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Veteran soul singing sister <strong>Laura Lee<\/strong> took a dramatic detour into Gospel music in the early 1980s, with the release of <em>Jesus Is The Light of My Life<\/em>, on <em>Myrrh Records<\/em>. Co-produced by<strong> Al Green<\/strong>, and featuring organ and strings from the incomparable <strong>Jerry Peters<\/strong>, the album offered a mix of Lee&#8217;s take on some Gospel staples (&#8220;Jesus Will Fix It&#8221;, &#8220;I&#8217;ll Fly Away&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>Laura Lee was born to sing the gospel.
