Recap: 19th Annual Stellar Award Pre-Show (2004)
For the first time ever, many of the Stellar Awards were presented on stage in a pre-show sponsored by Integrity and Sony Gospel.
Featuring performances by the electric Ty Tribbet & Greater Anointing, as well as nouveau worship sets by Lisa McClendon and Israel and New Breed, the ceremony was guided by hosts Dr. Bobby Jones, Kim Burrell and Houghton himself. Backdropped by giant Gotta Have Gospel! visuals, it was easy to agree with the sentiment.
Stellar Gospel Talent Search winner Micah Stampley skillfully sang "The Corinthian Song", written by V. Michael McKay. Anyone could have easily mistaken him for any of the other seasoned singers as he was right at home on stage. His presence as impactful as his vocal ability, looks like they picked the right one.
Integrity artist Stephen Hurd, Al "The Bishop" Hobbs, Gospocentric's Tracey Artis, Keith Wonderboy Johnson, Integrity Gospel head Jackie Patillo, Bishop Paul Morton and Gospelflava.com's own James D. Robinson were some of the fine presenters for this segment that aptly set the stage for the main event to come.
