 Photo Feature from SAGMA Luncheon To honor the members of the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy (SAGMA), Sister 2 Sister magazine partnered with American Society of Composers & Publishers (ASCAP) to co-host the pre-Stellar luncheon on Friday, January 11th 2002 at the Sheraton Atlanta Grand Ballroom.
On stage were Shirley Murdock, Pam & Dodi, Generation J, Two Edge, Patrick Love, KRS-ONE, as well as impromptu song from both Vickie Winans and son Marvin Winans Jr. The event was also a means of celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the popular Gospel column "Stomps & Shouts" in Sister 2 Sister. Columnist Calvin Terrell has been writing the column since its debut. Publisher Jamie Foster Brown’s vision was to tell the stories of Gospel's artists and to give them the kind of attention usually reserved for secular artists. Terrell succeeds in making that vision a reality. "We also wanted to cover gospel in a way it has never been covered before, as well as have a good time doing it", he says.
