![]() I Waited ![]() Check out the mid-tempo grooves "Higher Place" and "Who", along with the soulful, '70s tinged "My God", which all warrant repeat spins. Tying all of it together is the strength of Woods' musical selections. Woods shows himself to be an accomplished writer, writing or arranging six of the project's eleven tracks. The title track, featuring wife Jovaun Woods, and "Pray to Your God" are incredible cuts that deserve serious attention. Woods adds the icing to the album's cake with remakes of classics "To The God Who Reigns" (from Babbie Mason) and the timeless "Hold On Old Soldier" from Walter Hawkins. Though a long time coming, Woods' debut effort in no way disappoints and shows the strength of his vocal aptitude as a solo artist. Without question, I Waited is definitely worth the wait.
