Holy Hip Hop: Taking The Gospel To The Streets Under the guidance of Christopher Martin and David "DaMonsta" Lynch, twelve tracks are assembled on the disk, representing twelve different beat ministers ranging from diverse geographic regions. Bonus video footage on the enhanced disk highlights the 2004 Holy Hip Hop Music Awards. The album touches on song hits from previously-released projects from Canton Jones, R-Swift, FTF, Ziklag, Dynamic Twins and more, effectively unearthing the underground and exposing it to the daylight that streams in the windows of establishments until now not accustomed to such combos of scripture and hotness places like Wal-Mart, Towers, Virgin, Best Buy, Sam Goody's and Borders. "I Pray" from R. Jones moves on vocal-based, urban soul groove. Canton Jones follows up with a butter flow on "You And Me", celebrating intimacy with our Creator. Shei Atkins fosters party with her hype "Praise Him", courtesy Crazy C's production. More hardcore offerings come from Ziklag, FTF and Mr. Del, all of whom hit hard with their dirty South dipped artistry. Infinity combines dancehall with hip hop on "Holy Ghost Party" and R-Swift's East Coast stylin' on "Night Sweats" rounds out the smattering. The project ends on a fitting note with Mariaha Markel's "Dedication To Holy Hip Hop", a jazz-inflected spoken poetry cut that sets the scene for more projects to come from this snug alliance.
