After dropping two successful local releases, The Chozen Da-Scyplez make their national debut with He Who Has An Ear. The project also marks the marketplace debut of record label Blood and Water Records.

Debut or not, the Da-Scyplez have amassed a hot project that you'll definitely want to point your ear towards.

The 16-track project highlights the tight flow and lyrical skills of Da-Scyplez' members Monte Dugger and Landis McEachin. In addition to the hot flows, the duo have a hand in penning 14 of the 16 tracks, an art that occasionally escapes today's hip hop artists.

The mark of a hot emcee is their ability to bring potent lyrics to the table and the Da-Scyplez do not disappoint here either. The DC natives bring a relevant and thought-provoking message on several tracks, such as "Spend It", which addresses the relationship between man and money. The duo spit an amazing principle as they state that "money is a good servant but it's a poor master". They admonish listeners to use money as a means to a goal, rather than making money the goal.

The Da-Scyplez demonstrate their strong love for the youth in the the conscious groove titled "Young World". Here, they remind all that actions today determine destination tomorrow. Perhaps the most impassioned cry for our youth comes in the potent blazer, "LetzBHonest". The track directly addresses the confusion that some face as it pertains to sexual orientation and admonishes youth to be true to how God created them. This song is not for the faint at heart and is truly designed to bring deliverance to anyone whose facing difficulty in this area.

Like any true clique, the Da-Scyplez do not come to the party alone. Along ror the ride is female emcee Shannell Chandler, who brings a nice flow to the smooth cut "1st Luv". Chandler, who co-wrote "1st Luv" is also featured on "I Can't", which speaks of the challenge that men and women find keeping purity in their relationship. This song encourages believers to hold to their integrity and leave situations that lead to sexual impurtity and does a great job of distinguishing that often thin line between love and lust.

"Got Robbed" has almost a neo-soul vibe to it as the Da-Scyplez take you into Club Agape and spit a sweet poetic flow while Tyrantia Cook contributes sweet supporting vocals with a nice touch of jazz.

The DC crew doesn't fall prey to a geographical sound as they fuse all types of vibes into this project. From West Coast funk to an East Coast street vibe, this project has it all. The title of the project couldn't be more appropriate, as those with an ear are guaranteed to bob their heads, be encouraged, and find deliverance to difficult issues through this project.
