Mark the date! FEBRUARY 1-3, 2008 in CHICAGO

GOSPELflava.com will celebrate its Anniversary in conjunction with an unprecedented celebration of the undisputed Queen of Gospel Music, Mahalia Jackson, at the birthplace of Gospel music, Chicago. NOTE, we have been informed that the event date has changed, and has now MOVED to February 1-3, 2008, to mark the beginning of Black History Month.

There has been overwhelming support for this celebration across musical genres as well as from various public entities. Mahalia Jackson is by far one of the most important figures in the history of gospel music. To make sure that this event is a fitting and memorable tribute to her legacy and celebrates her rich history, as well as celebrating the many contributions of GOSPELflava.com, the event is now slated for February, 2008.

The festivities kick off with a Black Tie Gala and Late Night Concert on Friday, Februry 1st, followed by a Lecture and Concert on Saturday, February 2nd, and a Sunday Musical Celebration on February 3rd. During the weekend, there will also be a taping for the Mahalia Jackson Documentary.
