Jessica Greene New Artist Celebration (2009) Such was the case at the 24th Annual Stellar Awards held in January 2009, when Habakkuk Music Group signee Jessica Greene was named New Artist of the Year. To commemorate this accomplishment, her native city, Baltimore, Maryland, played host to a huge celebration in her honor, and GOSPELflava.com was in the house to capture all of the festivities.
Hunt shared a powerful testimony of his life being saved from potential death. Labelmate Kevin LeVar and One Sound shared their gift with his hit song "A Heart That Forgives" which made an incredible impact on the audience. Maurette Brown-Clark shared her chart-topping hit "It Ain't Over", which blessed the crowd. Clark, a previous New Artist of the Year recipient herself, offered words of encouragement and support to Greene. Habakkuk Music Group founder April Washington-Essex and manager Kevin Branch also shared words of excitement and encouragement before introducing the night's honored guest. Greene performed "Grateful", "Restore", and her hit "Promises". The concert and celebration continued with a private reception, which featured performances from Tre Thomas and Indigo, along with a surprise appearance from Lil' Mo. During the evening, it was announced that Greene is heading to the studio to begin work on her sophomore project that should hit stores in 2010.
