Israel & New Breed: Houston (2008) With, conference worship sessions taught by Worship leader Joel Auge', Bishop Joseph Garlington, Aaron Lindsay, David and Nicole Binion, Kevin Singleton, Miriam Webster, Terrance Palmer and many more, people were raving about what had happened during the day, leading up to the evening's live recording. With several of New Breed's veteran singers no longer with the group, a way has been paved for new voices. The singers include Krystal Harper, Lois Du Plessis, Charlin Moore, Shawn Flowers, Jerard Woods, Neville Deitricks and Gayle Brannen. Led by Daniel Johnson, New Breed ministered with the energy expected from New Breed and they added a new twist to several already powerful songs. With Grace Church as the venue, the altar was filled with folks who sang, danced and praised right along New Breed all evening long. The fast-paced "I Am Saved By Grace" and the celebratory anthem, "No Condemnation-Let the World Know" were among several highlights. Daniel Johnson flowed and sang with fervor as he is continuing to lead this wonderful vocal aggregation. Israel and New Breed have a wide perspective on the world, having traveled to many different countries around the globe. When they sing about "letting the world know" it rings with sincerity. They have a heart to pour out on others what God has given to them.
This was not your run-of-the-mill recording session. Things took a different turn when one of Israel's mentors, Andrae Crouch, showed up to receive the Legacy Award. He passed the mantel of songwriting to Israel and laid his hands on Israel and wife, Meleasea. Crouch then treated everyone to some wonderful anecdotes about songwriting and then sang some of his own hits. He was backed by a vocal ensemble consisting of Denise Graves, The Binions, Steve and Dadra Crawford, Micah Stampley, Tichina Daniel and Daniel Johnson. The ensemble was directed by Crouch's twin, Sandra. Included in his set was "Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus", "I'm Not Afraid No More" and "Yes Lord". New Breed came back on stage and blessed the people with a few more songs; they sang the soothing "Father's Love" and then Neville Deitricks took the mic on "Jesus Never Fails". This New Breed member from South Africa sings with such passion, yet remains as smooth. Charlin Moore "brought the house down" with a rousing rendition of the hymn, "Love Lifted Me". The memorable night ended with a trio of pumping songs such as "Great Is Our God", the funky "Come On Let Us Rejoice" and the grooving "Get Excited". If you were there, you're no doubt eager to here the fruits of this evening on disc. If you weren't, then you are in for a treat when the project hits the shelf. Email This To A Friend
