QuestionAnswer
Tell us about the name "Cutlass". "Cutlass" came from my friend was a rapper and giving me a name of cutlass supreme. We couldn’t really use that because it’s a car. It’s copywritten. So my other friend said let’s call you Frankie Cutlass.
What do you hope to do with this New Wine album? Frankie Cutlass Go gold, go platinum. It looks very impossible right now. But nothing is impossible through Christ. It looks like it’s not going anywhere, but who I am to say that I don’t know what GOD will do tomorrow. I don’t know whose hand this thing will land in. I know that definitely I got supporters. We would get us enough promoters to bring us to secular. And to bring funds to the label so that I could sign some of the talent that are not getting some of those breaks.
What question do you get asked the most? I get "what church do you go to" alot. And also, “are you ok?”
What CDs are in your car right now? A lot of secular CDs.
What was the first album you ever bought? Rapper’s Delight by The Sugar Hill Gang.
What is your favorite movie? Scarface and Bruce Lee documentaries and movies
What is your favorite TV show? Fox News.
If you weren’t doing music, what would you be doing? Management.
What is your favorite food? Spanish and Chinese food
How about your favorite fast food? I don’t like fast food. I look forward to sharing my testimony and going out, but a lot of the times I don’t like going to fast food places. But one place I find myself going to while on the road is McDonald’s,
What's your least favorite thing about being on the road? I know that I’m not gonna eat my healthy food.
And what's your favorite part about being on the road? Meeting different folks! Different people, from different churches, different lifestyles.
I know that I’m not gonna eat my healthy food.
Name the best dish you can cook. Rice and beans, chicken wings, pork chops.
Tell us the phrase you use the most often. "One".
What do you collect? Vinyl, movies (DVDs), action figures (Godzilla, Batman and Robin, etc.)
What was the last car you had? The last car I had was an LX 400 (Lexus). Right now —no car.
Who would you love to perform with? Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin and Celine Dion. She’s such a musical person, an inspiration, her music is about love and going for your dreams.
How do you relax? I’m always on the go. And if I’m not on the go, I’m with the girls, I have two daughters. I’m always on the run. I guess it’s the type of person I am. If I don’t find myself busy, I find myself miserable.
What's your pet peeve? When Christian folks don’t know what they’re talking about. When they come out and try to think that they’re GOD and they try to rebuke you and they try to say something to you and they don’t know what GOD is doing. That annoys me. You don’t even know some of the stuff I had to go through in my Christian walk.
Is there one thing that you always wanted to do, but you haven’t yet? I think it’s definitely blowing up in this music business and giving all the glory to Christ. Being in front of the awards and really sharing a quick testimony of how GOD just brought me from here to there. Living that good life in Christ.
What’s the one thing you can’t do to save your life? Communicating with people sometimes. I come off to people the wrong way sometimes. I think communicating tends to be one of the hardest things. I don’t mean it the wrong way, or mean harm, but people can take it that way.
