VaShawn Mitchell
Created 4 This

Six time Stellar Award winner and Grammy nominated artist VaShawn Mitchell returns with new music, on a release from EMI Gospel release titled Created 4 This.

Mitchell is still riding high off his chart-topping 2010 release, Triumphant, which spawned radio hits "Nobody Greater" and "Chasing After You". Mitchell returns with a fresh new sound on this project that is available in standard and Deluxe Edition (CD and DVD combo) options.

When you him is there is some apprehension about trying to match the commercial success of Triumphant, Mitchell will quickly tell you "yes", however he is points out that his assignment was to not try and duplicate the past, but rather to let God do the rest and press into the new.

CDMitchell returns home to Harvey, Illinois to record the project (and interestly, allowed the recording to be live-streamed, giving fans an intimate look into the recording process, and leaving many excited about the album in the process).

Kicking off the album is "Psalms 150",written by Lehman Gray, Philip Feaster, Tiffany Joy, and Calvin Rodgers. From the first few seconds of this track, you already are immediately on the path to pure Praise and worship. Anthony Brown takes the lead as vocal producer pulling a classic and pure sound out the background vocals.

Israel Houghton joins in on "Greatest Man", a song that delivers that corporate worship vibe (Sunday morning style), so don't be surprised if your minister of music adds this one to your set list. The song declares there's "nobody like our God", an if you know Mitchell's worship style, you already know what comes next — that's right, get ready to experience "Nobody Greater" like you never have before! Houghton and Mitchell tag team in a worship medley adding "Name Above All Names", and "Our God", first made popular by singer/songwriter Chris Tomlin.

The most talked about song on the album is the single "Turning Around For Me", a personal testimony of Mitchell's daily affirmation that each day will be better than the day before and that what seems like a temporary setback is purposed for a permanent set up. Check out the lyrics that say, "It won't always be like this, The Lord will perfect that concerning me, and sooner or later it will turn in my favor. It's turning around for me".

Fantasia Barrino and her mother Evangelist Diane Barrino join on the V. Michael McKay classic "The Potters House". The three give you a classic sound and flow effortlessly together to breathe new life into this Gospel classic.

Kierra Sheard joins VaShawn on the Rick Robinson tune "I Will", a song geared as a personal prayer asking God to be pleased with the fruits of one's life. This sincere and pure worship tune, written by Robinson, adds that worship element that brings the focus of the album back to the heart of God.

In total, the project lifts you to another level with VaShawn Mitchell. Musicians Calvin Rodgers, Philip Feaster, Richard Smith, Rodney Jones, Lawrence Jones, Joey Wolfalk, and Lloyd Barry present a rich body of musical arrangements that will leave you speechless, with production top notch. From beginning to end the project is the epitome of excellence in recording.

More importantly, this album releases a new sound in the earth to declare your purpose. You were Created 4 This.
