The Much Luvv Fam
The Next... Now

Where else can you find a wide array of emcees such as Sev Statik, 4th Avenue Jones, Japhia Life, Pigeon John, R Swift, J, Johnson (formerly J. Silas), Sean Slaughter, KJ-52, Braille, and Tonex?

CD The Next... Now album has all of those artists and more. The Much Luvv Fam releases a massive double disc produced entirely by the man, Tony Stone. The Next disc is geared towards believers, and the Now disc is aimed at non-believers and the unchhurced. The Much Luvv Fam includes Mark J, Tre-9, Enock, Colcutz, and Cy.

On the Next disc, Enock delivers the goods on "What I Am-Lo Que Soy", a bumping song that has mix of Latin, Hip Hop and even Middle Eastern sounds with PIF laying down the hook. Cy brings in J. Johnson and R. Swift to challenge the church to wake up and evangelize on "What's Wrong". Stone's crisp production brings so much to the essence of this song.

Get ready to nod your head on "Good News Music". It's a feel-good cut featuring the whole Much Luvv fam (minus S.O.M.). Mark J shines on this one with his old school approach. "Shoulda Seen It Comin" will keep the heads nodding with its infectious synth bass line and knocking beat. The song's potency is fierce especially with Cy, Enock and the Holy Ghost Squad's take on the power of soul winning.

Much Luvv's newes signee, S.O.M., brings the heat on the Dirty South banger, "Giving Much Luvv Back". Abstract poets Remnant and Reconcile guest on "Wolverine Sessions".

Moving to the Now disc, "Stereotype" is a candid look at the struggles of white emcees who catch flack from those try to put them in a box and describes how they overcome their particular obstacles. Tre-9, KJ-52 and dope emcee Braille make their point clear over Stone's hot beat. Tre-9 and Mark J bring some serious fire on the properly titled, "Burn".

Things are smoothed out on "Why Oh" featuring Pigeon John and Promise D. Apostle. Pigeon John can be questioned for his zany style and his subject matter, but he delivers one of the dopest verses on the album. Mark J and Promise D. Apostle add some potent verses of their own.

"Own Up" is Much Luvv's challenge to be responsible, encouraging men to own up to their mistakes and stand up and be men who take care of their children and be leaders in this world. Club DJs, take heed of the uptempo jam"Show Luvv" and Hip Hop heads, enjoy the gritty "The Gatekeeper" featuring Sean Slaughter.

The Next... Now is a massive project that has only a couple of misses in the midst of some sure-fire hits. Much Luvv came up big time on this one and they made sure that they brought plenty of company to share in the victory.
