 The Transformation  With their sophomore album, The Transformation, Fortune and FIYA have chosen a title that reflects spiritual maturity and also signals their musical growth.Never one to stick to one style of music, Fortune shows his appreciation for the traditional with a stirring remake of Andrae Crouch's "The Blood". Zacardi Cortez leads this one with such power that you will wonder how someone with such youth can sing like that. "New Day", lead by Fortune's wife Cheryl, is funky with some added sauce from Phillip Lassiter on horns and some guitar spice from Robert "Peanut" Williams. The funk continues with the hitting "If You Want To". Cortez, the ever-present Nikki Ross and Josiah Martin each lend their vocals to this already infectious cut. Anaysha Figueroa takes the lead on "I Owe It All", a beautiful worship song takes on added sweetness with her vocal touch. Gene Moore Jr. adds his finesse on "Just to Worship" while Nakitta Clegg-Foxx brings her familiar tones to "I Wouldn't Know You". If there has to be a best track on this album, it would be "F.I.Y.A.", the group's acronymed name (standing for Free In Yahweh's Abundance). Taking on a pop flair, the cut would make both Michael W. Smith and Israel Houghton proud. The message on this album is obviously about the changes that God has made in the lives of the group. By harmoniously mixing in songs of adoration and thanksgiving, James Fortune and FIYA serve up a masterful release that seems set to gain much attention.
