Gospel Dream

Gospel music’s answer to the famed American Idol competition is known as Gospel Dream. Similar to its secular counterpart, Gospel Dream seeks to find the genre’s next big thing, giving thousands of aspiring vocalists the opportunity to apply their craft and shine on the grand stage.

The end result of the entity’s most recent competition has birthed this 12-track compilation album, featuring 9 finalists.

CDUndergirded by famed producer Aaron Lindsay and the New Breed band, the Gospel Dream finalists come together to deftly fuse styles from pop to rock to traditional, all designed to share the Gospel with the masses. Most of the finalists cover famed CCM or Gospel hits, each adding their distinct imprint to their selection.

Several bright spots on the effort include pieces from Katrina Stone and Heather Regalado, along with Kristina Higgins’ rendition of “God Of Wonders” and Kimberly Lowery’s offering of Martha Munizzi’s “Glorious”.

Look out for Christi Bradford’s “Word of God Speak”, which slickly infuses a stanza of Donnie McClurkin’s “Speak to My Heart”.

Gospel Dream winner Brian Smith pens the gorgeous “Love Like Rain” and is featured on “Life Song”.

To conclude the project, the entire team of finalists come together on “Sing” and the hip “Power of the Dream”, which gets a worthy remix from Lindsay who also lends his vocals to the fray.

Make no mistake. Gospel Dream is a reality that cannot be denied. Featuring some of the nation’s newest voices, this effort is certain to be talked about for quite some time.
