Dorinda Clark-Cole
I Survived

The Rose of Gospel is back with a wonderful 11-track project titled I Survived.

Dorinda Clark-Cole is a beloved legend in the gospel genre. We know her from her phenomenal singing with the legendary Clark Sisters, but as a solo artist she has brought us a great body of work that pays homage to a traditional gospel sound mixed with some contemporary.

On this, her fifth solo recording, and her first for Light Records, she teams up with her longtime collaborator Asaph Ward, and also noted producer in the gospel, R&B, andCD pop genres, Warryn Campbell.

The project opens up with an up-tempo track titled, "Holy One", which is filled with wonderful musical elements and transitions. It certainly grabs the listener and piques an interest to hear more.

The project then transitions to the Hawkin's favorite, "God Will Take Care of You" featuring some unique arrangements from both Dorinda and Keith Leak. Although this song has been interpreted by many, Dorinda puts her signature and soulful spin on it as she drives the song home. This timeless hymn is followed up by a good old handclapping, foot-stomping cut, "He Brought Me."

There are a number of songs on I Survive" that take you straight into an atmosphere of church on a Sunday morning with a choir and a praise team. The music on this project speaks to your heart and definitely makes you want to lift your hands and rock side to side. Look for several of these songs to be picked up by churches across the nation because they simply feel good, stay true to what is loved about traditional gospel music and come with awesome vocal arrangements, musicality, and high energy.

Other standout tracks include: "For My Good", "Back To You" (the first radio single), "God Is Everything To Me", and "Welcome". Dorinda's amazing vocals, energy, and passion for God shines through on every song.

"Back To You" has an urban feel, which is a bit different for Dorinda, but welcomed and enjoyed. On "Thank You", she teams up with her sister Twinkie Clark, which is a joy to hear. Anytime the Clark Sisters come together the result is a host of great vocal styling and an impactful message.

I Survived is a great body of songs that will resonate with gospel music lovers. With stellar production and innovation, Dorinda Clark-Cole provides listeners with what they know and love from her with a few delightful surprises.

With her signature sound and powerful message, Dorinda Clark Cole delivers again. She HAS survived and will continue to go forward with vigor with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
