Donald Lawrence
20-Year Celebration Vol. 1, Best For Last

It's hard to believe it's been over 20 years since Donald Lawrence graced the music industry with TriCity Singers' A Songwriter's Point Of View. For nearly two decades he's given us timeless anthems, rich arrangements, and produced some of today's top Gospel projects and acts.

When one thinks of Donald Lawrence words such as, "class", "professionalism", and "genius" come to mind, but most importantly: "anointed". His uncanny ability to pull the best out of singers has marveled audiences across the world. Lawrence wears multiple hats: singer, songwriter, composer, producer, host, and life coach. All of these roles he effortlessly merges together in order to be effective in his ministry.

To commemorate his Grammy and Stellar award winning career, Lawrence partnered with eOne Music to produce his 20 Year Celebration. At the end of the day, the project will have two volumes and an accompanying DVD.

CD Volume 1 of the set, subtitled Best For Last, was recorded live in front of a sold out audience in Chicago in June 2013. One of the most highly anticipated recordings of the year, Lawrence called upon the biggest names in Gospel, R&B, and Contemporary Christian music, and also included his Stellar award winning group, The Company (consisting of DeWayne Woods, Anita Wilson, LaTrice Pace, Blanche McAllister Dykes, Dante Hall, Dawn Jordan, Kim McFarland Anderson, Floyd Wilkinson, Tobbi White, Tobbi White Darks, and Mike Smith).

Together, Lawrence and the Company bring to life some of Lawrence's classic hits as well as some new fresh new material, with plenty of razzle-dazzle guest solo appeal mixed in.

Lawrence reunites Ted Winn and Sheri Jones Moffett (aka 'Ted and Sheri') to sing their hit "Celebrate". R&B diva Faith Evans adds her unique and versatile flair to "Say A Prayer For Me". Lawrence's stellar winning choir joins him on the track "There Remaineth A Rest".

Many marvel at how after all these years the choir's unique blend still can't be matched. From the moment the album starts with "The Overture", the listener is immediately captivated as Lawrence gives a brief musical history of his material. Lawrence's ability to tell the story of the believer in the fight of faith is unmatched.

Other guests include soul singer Lalah Hathaway on "Ultimate Relationship", Kelly Price, who returns to her Gospel roots on "When The Saints Go To Worship" and the intense worship from Dove award winner Natalie Grant on "Mighty GOD".

The next installment will feature more songs from the artists who made guest appearances that evening as well as others with whom Lawrence has collaborated over the past 20 years.

From his experience as Stephanie Mills' musical Director, to working with some of today's top music acts, Best For Last will take you on the ride that is Donald Lawrence. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.
