When Tampa's Dana Mackey attended a women's conference in Oklahoma about six years ago, she never envisioned that her life would be forever changed. She never imagined that God would bring her to a higher level of praise and worship, breaking her out of her "shyness".

On Mackey's project With Praises From The Heart, she blesses gospel music fans with the inspirational scripture and theme Psalm 138:1 ("I will praise you Oh Lord, with all of my heart").

The album starts out with three up-tempo, urban contemporary-jazz fusion songs in "With Praises", "More of You", and "Praise Your Holy Name". All three songs are praise and worship influenced and possess an infectious vibe of catchy hooks that sets the atmosphere of praise.

"We Glorify Your Name" slows down the pace, as this thanksgiving-filled song is set up by a brief instrumental. Dana's soothing voice along with Ernest Collins, Jr.'s production makes it great for listening to after a long day. "Only You" is a beautiful, rhythm and praise influenced track reminiscent of "God's Grace" by Trin-i-tee 5:7.

"Teach Me How" is an enjoyable smooth-jazz flavored song that has Mackey telling how one enters in to praise and worship with the Lord, with lyrics that are heart-warming and sincere. This is the type of song that will make you humble yourself to seek God's direction.

"Wonderful" is arguably the best song on the album, an anointed, powerful praise song that will wear out your player's repeat button.

With Praises From The Heart is an atmosphere setter that calls praise and worshippers into the presence of God. Even in up tempo songs such as "No limit", "From the Heart", and "We Give Thanks", Dana Mackey's unique vocals remain present and relevant to the call of worship.
