![]() Beatmart Recordings - Best of the Submissions Vol. 1 He's already got some buzz from the recent Soul Purpose project, a collaboration between himself and KJ-52, and now drops Beatmart Recordings - Best of the Submissions. This is a dope mixtape featuring some very talented signed and unsigned emcees. DJ Morphiziz chops up every song on the 1's and 2's. ![]() The streets meets The Disney Channel on "Survive". Actually it's Rob Hodge featuring Kollins Kids Kommunity Khoir. It's simply awesome to have the rugged delivery of Hodge along with Collins' "beat banger" come together with all those kids singing the hook. Continuing with the mixtape, Billy Puddles flexes his freestyle skills while he and Dre Murray are "Getting Rowdy". Then Todd Collins takes the make as an emcee on "Yes Yes Ya'll", an old school meets new school joint that was supposed to feature Tobymac. Collins uses it to explain the origins of Gotee Records and the start of Beatmart Records. He does this over the beat from "Paul Revere" (Beastie Boys) among others.
Another highlight of this mixtape is "Lord, Lord" which has Truth and Mark J crying out to God to take them in. Collins and KJ-52 lay down the pulsating beat that will get heads to nodding. Bobby Bishop, also signed to Beatmart, shows his humor without sacrificing his stance as a dope emcee on "One Hit Wonder". Aluding to many secular rappers and singers who have had short careers, Bishop comes back to deliver a humorous freestyle on "Lunchroom Freestyle". YSG's freestyle in the same lunchroom will have heads scratching their heads on how he pulled his countdown from 16 bars off. Mighty Victor's "It Don't Stop" is a slowed-down joint where Collins so gracefully matches the beat with MV's gritty style. The emcee tackles such issues as: being in a backslidden condition, raising the standard and being a good example to those in the streets. "Young Lion" is a slow, dirty south banger with Tru Knowledge passionately expresses his boldness in Christ. "Love of My Life" is a hot dance track featuring the talented trio, The Descendantz. Other jams to check are "What Ya'll Thinkin" featuring hp hp legend Sev Statik and Tony Stone. Also, retro funk cut, "Like This, Like That" is worthy of many spins. Beatmart Recordings - Best of the Submissions helps to raise the bar in hip hop. With Todd Collins as producer, excellent emcees delivering the dopeness, and DJ Morphiziz chopping it all up, this is quality stuff.
