49th Annual Grammy Award Winners The Gospel Categories
The 49th Annual Grammy Award winners were announced on February 11, 2007.
In brief, eligibility is limited to those recordings released during the period of October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.
This year, there are four categories specific to Gospel; we list them
below with the winners noted in YELLOW text.
GOSPELflava.com reached Israel Houghton for comment on his first Grammy win. He stated that "It is an honor to represent the Kingdom of God and to be Salt and Light in the world. The people of South Africa brought worship out of us by teaching us what it is really all about. This, on behalf of New Breed, is for them and all worshippers worldwide. We look forward to serving the Body for generations to come."
