45th Annual Grammy Award Nominations
The Gospel Categories
 The 45th Annual Grammy Award nominations were announced on January 7, 2003 from the show's venue, Madison Square Garden in New York. The ceremonies will be broadcast on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003 and will be shown live on CBS.
In brief, eligibility is limited to those recordings released during the period of October 1, 2001 through September 30, 2002.

Additionally, in the Best Pop Instrumental Album, Kirk Whalum was nominated for his Christmas Message, and Eartha was nominated in the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her song "I'm Still Standing" on her Sidebars album. joining Avalon, Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith.
 Also, GRITS was nominated in the Best Rock Gospel Album category for their Art of Translation project, together with Toby Mac's Momentum album —both of them hip-hop projects.
